Maxi-Cosi Mico Xp Max is an upgraded version of the Maxi-Cosi Mico 30. It is designed for maximum comfort, safety, and style. This car seat has safety features that are innovative and boast a sleek European style that is eye-catching and good-looking.

How We Picked and Tested Maxi-Cosi Mico Xp Max

For first time parents who are looking for the best car seat, here are the things you need to look for before buying a car seat for your little one.

Safety

Patented Air Protect Side Impact

Mico XP has firm but soft and comfy padding. It also boasts a sturdy frame that makes parents secure about their child’s safety. Mico Xp has a unique technology called Air Protect. It provides side-impact protection for your baby’s head by diverting all crash energy. This keeps your baby safe in case of any accident. It also features a load leg that minimizes the movement and rotation of the car seat protecting your child’s spine and head.

A review from Amazon shared how they were in an accident with their 5 week-old baby and their baby slept through it all. It was not moved from where it was installed and had no significant damage from the accident.

Installation

We tried installing the Mico XP in our sedan and with the LATCH system, it just clicked right through! It was easy and convenient with the level indicator that is located on both sides, it turned green once we had the correct angle. We also tried using the car seat without the base, although we needed to use a few rolled towels to get the right angle, it was relatively easy compared to other brands.

Canopy

Mico Xp Max has a large and extendable canopy that can cover your baby from head to toe from the harsh sun rays. The fabric is also UPF 50+ and is a breathable mesh for your baby’s comfort. Although the canopy is great, we had a hard time adjusting it and keeping it in place.

Fabric and Maintenance

The fabric for this seat is removable and machine washable which is good for maintenance, but it’s not breathable. If you’re like us who lives in a tropical place, this car seat will make your baby sweaty and irritable. We also tried using a cover, but the standard ones are not compatible with the seat.

Should You Buy Maxi-Cosi Mico Xp Max?

If you are looking for a car seat with a reasonable price, with maximum safety features, we can recommend Maxi-Cosi Mico Xp Max Car Seat. But if you are someone who prioritizes your baby’s comfort along with safety, we suggest looking for another car seat. This car seat is also not for people with a compact car or standard sedan, because just like Mico 30, it takes a lot of space in the back seat.

Other Car Seats To Consider

Chicco KeyFit 35 Car Seat has the same features in the same price range that has a more comfortable fabric. It’s also created for easy installation and use. It can also accommodate up to 35 lbs and is light enough for public transportation.

Maxi-Cosi Mico XP Infant Car Seat

Maxi-Cosi Mico XP for me has great safety features, sleek design and provides comfort and definitely a great investment. One thing to keep in mind before purchasing this seat is that the maximum weight it can accommodate is 30lbs which is a bit lower compared to other brands. And if your baby is on the larger side like mine, you might want to check out other brands since you will most likely to use this seat for a short period of time.
