Chicco KeyFit 35 has addressed issues from its predecessor Chicco KeyFit 30. Although both car seats have a lot of similar features, KeyFit 35 has a lot of upgrades specially in terms of comfort, design, and safety.
How We Picked and Tested Chicco KeyFit 35
We evaluated Chicco KeyFit 35 by installing it to a standard-sized sedan. As first time parents, tested how versatile, convenient and how safe it is. We tried using the seat with and without the base. Installing the KeyFit 35 without the base is pretty easy after reading the instructions. Carrying it with one is challenging due to its weight. I am a fit but on the smaller side mom, and holding this seat with my baby is impossible and straining. The canopy is great for covering my baby. However, it clashes with the handle and an error we don’t think that has any workaround or solution.
Another thing that is bothering us is that we noticed that our baby gets really sweaty while using KeyFit 35. We think it’s because of the fabric used for the paddings.

Things We Don’t Like About Chicco KeyFit 35
Bulky
Although Chicco KeyFit 35 boast a sleek and modern design making look like it’s compact and light, this car seat is 18.5 lbs with base and 10 lbs without base. Although it’s bulky, you can be assured that your baby is comfortable due to its bigger interior space.
Pricey
Although Chicco KeyFit 35 is not the most expensive car seat in the market, it is still quite expensive, specially if you add the cost for a seat base and the fact that it is not convertible and can only accommodate your baby until 18 months or until they reach the maximum height and weight limit (which not a lot). You might want to think about getting KeyFit 35.
Limited position
Chicco KeyFit 35 is exclusively made for newborns and up until your infant is 18 months old or 32 inches and 35 lbs.
