How We Picked and Tested Evenflo LiteMax 35
We know that looking for the best car seat is hard, we want to have the best features for our newborns within the most reasonable price. We tested Evenflo LiteMax 35 to see if the reasonable price is worth it.
Installation
We installed LiteMax in our sedan and getting the base in the right position is easy, and putting the car seat is a no-brainer. However, removing the car seat from the base is quite hard, and we did spend a few minutes figuring if I was doing something wrong, but upon thoroughly checking, I just needed to use two hands and enough force to release the car seat from the base. Not something to be worried about, but definitely something to think about before getting LiteMax 35.
Comfort
The cover and padding is comfortable and easy to clean, but you will need to use another pillow for newborns for additional comfort and support. Since the car seat is compact and light, the overall size is pretty narrow, and I think that your child will easily outgrow this car seat.
Compatibility
Evenflo LiteMax 35 is only compatible with EvenFlo strollers. We’ve tried using this car seat with our Cybex stroller, but the fit was not good since LiteMax 35 is too narrow.
Weight
EvenFlo car seats are definitely the lightest seats we’ve tried. The seat itself is only 7 lbs and 11 lbs with the base, which makes it a perfect car seat for travelling and public transportation.
What We Don’t Like About Evenflo LiteMax 35
The LiteMax’s canopy is feels weak and looks thin and cheap. It does the job of protecting your child from the harsh sun. But when it comes to the wind, it will not stand firmly. We also tried putting another layer of cloth above it to extend protection, but even with the light cloth, the canopy was shaking.
You will need to purchase a separate EvenFlo stroller for LiteMax since it doesn’t work with any other stroller even with an adapter.
The car seat is also too narrow, and we suspect that our child will easily outgrow this car seat with how the size is. And after reading some Amazon reviews stating that their 13 lbs infant already does not fit is a big red flag for us. This means that you’ll need to buy another car seat sooner than later.

But even then, we still think that EvenFlo LiteMax 35 is not worth it. With how narrow this car seat, you’ll be needing to buy another seat for your child in no time, which means you need to a few hundred bucks again. Choose something that is comfortable and is sure to carry your infant for longer months before buying the next stage of car seat like Chicco KeyFit 35.
